Washington DC – Overview 3

Washington DC is not a great place to visit in the summer, although many people do. Spring and Fall have lovely weather, so people coming to the city now, see it at its best.

Here’s a few more of my Overview Choices, oriented this time towards more historic areas or sites.

___ The White House
___ The Vice-President’s Home in the Embassy Row section
___ Georgetown, historic neighborhood
___ Mt. Vernon, George & Martha Washington’s plantation home
___ Woodlawn – circa 1850 Custis-Lewis Family home of Washington’s nephew and also the site of Pope-Leighey House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, America’s most famous architect, as an example of a 1,200 sq. ft modern, affordable home.
___ Statuary Hall and the Old Senate Chamber, Congress
___ “The Castle”, Smithsonian Institution original museum
___ Historic Alexandria, Virginia
