Washington, DC – Free Events: Kennedy Center

As these first weeks of June are the time when, traditionally, many 8th graders who are graduating from Middle School, come from all over the country to visit the nation’s capital, finding something free is really necessary.

In fact, “free” is great for anyone’s budget! So, Washington, DC tourists can rejoice that The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has its Millennium Stage set for a free event at 6pm every night, for the moment.

With Dayton Hudson / Target stores as a sponsor, there’s a lot that can be done to introduce people to musical events, from many cultures and genres, that they might not otherwise be able to attend.

Riga Dom Boys Choir
The world-renowned ensemble led by principal conductor Martins Klishans has performed for many heads of state and participated in festivals around the world. Program is pesented in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia.

Target Family Night: DC Youth Orchestra
Participants in this music instruction and performance program for young people (ages 4 to 19), now in its 49th season, perform classical works for your listening pleasure.

Martin Deschamps
Part of the 2010 International VSA Festival and part of the Opening Ceremony at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, award-winning Quebec rocker Martin Deschamps bursts onto the stage with performances with an energy which is sure to bring the house down!
