Art Wolfe – Seattle’s Master Photographer

Meeting Seattle’s own master photographer, or seeing his work there, can be a chance to stand in the presence of greatness. I regard Art Wolfe as one of the best American photographers, ever, if not the best — even though I love and acknowledge the amazing Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Edward Weston, along with Margaret Bourke-White, Alfred Stieglitz and Alfred Einsenstadt!

When you come to Seattle, you have the chance to connect with Art and his staff, possibly take a class in town or have the chance to go on an international workshop with him. Maybe you’ll be able to see an exhibition (learn more tomorrow).

If you are not familiar with his work, you can learn more at his website, and check the PBS series (underwritten by Canon and Microsoft) called “Travels To The Edge” which at least half of America has watched. What an accomplishment!

Obviously, you can also buy his work online, and I encourage you to search the available portfolio and check at pbs.org to buy his videos. You won’t be sorry.

Art Wolfe is a wonderful human being, too, and his manner is one whereby he is an earnest, honest ambassador and broker of the best in each culture and represents ours well, to the fullest measure.

Famed British naturalist, Sir David Attenborough, says” “Art Wolfe’s photographs are a superb evocation of some of the most breathtaking spectacles in the world.”
