Vancouver Events – January 2010, Part 4
Welcome to Vancouver! This year is a landmark one for the city. The Olympic Games start about 5 weeks from now and the city is abuzz.
Here are more events for you to meet the locals and also attend some world-class venues and functions over the month. See the first 3 parts, too, in the archived articles.
: » » Prophecies and panics for 2012, with moderator Roman Onufrijchuk. False Creek Community Centre, 1318 Cartwright St, Granville Island, Jan. 7, 7 p.m. 7 p.m.
If you are staying in a condo rental or apartment suite hotel, with kitchen facilities in your room, then you might check in with this market and others, along with the natural markets like Whole Foods, nearby.
You should know that most Vancouver Olympic Games tickets are sold. There is a secondary market, and the official Vancouver Olympic site is asking people who are not going to use their tickets or who just bought them to resell, to put the listing for sale there.
The city of Vancouver is giving away about 26,000 hockey tickets. I am not sure of the process.
There is a Cultural Olympiad accompanying the sports Olympiad, and as I track down those events, I will alert you. I think these will be popular tickets, so act, if you are interested.
Enjoy!
